This is a beautiful set of cookware and, I think, a great value…I paid $189.99 for 17 pieces, 15 of which are pots, pans & lids and 2 inserts..for pasta and for steaming. I like that there are 2 of the same size lid. You always get 1 lid that fits 2 items in the set and I would always use them at the same time and only be able to cover 1. No worries with this set–there is 1 lid for each. Also, I did a lot of price shopping before I picked this one and it’s the only brand that calls it 17-piece and gives you all cookware. Every other set I saw that was over, say, 10 pieces– the extra was knives or plastic utensils vs pots and pans. If it was 17 pieces, 7 to 9 of them were bowls, utensils, knives, etc. Rip offs for the prices they charged. And finally..the outside is nice and smooth, not ringed or otherwise textured…makes for nice cleanup and hopefully they’ll stay nice looking longer than their predecessors. The ONLY thing I’m not thrilled with is that the lid handles do get warm…even hot. The pot and pan handles don’t, but the lids definitely do. But for the price and quality? I have potholders…. Otherwise I would give it 5 stars. What the heck..5 it is!

The reason I decided to purchase these was simply because of the great customer service I had recieved from Cuisinart. I had purchased a frying pan and one of the 115V tines broke. I called Customer service and they sent me out a brand new pan no questions asked.

These pans are great however they are NOT dishwasher safe. The outside finish will dull (Don’t ask) but I recovered it with some olive oil. They wash quite quickly and nicely. Definately non stick. Great even heat.

I did a lot of research before buying a new set of cookware. I read tons of reviews and this one seemed to be the best. Not only were there good reviews but there seemed to be great features and shapes/sizes of pots & pans too. I even bought some additional separate pieces at a much higher price. Too bad for me.

My biggest issue is that the handles are very hard to hold. They are too slender and have a concave shape so that one cannot grip them easily and comfortably. This is especially problematic with the skillets or larger saucepans (bought separately). Secondly, they get VERY hot, very fast and things burn in seconds. They seem rather lightweight. I would prefer a heavier bottom. I think this add to the heating/burning issue. They seems to scratch easily even though I have been very careful with them. The non-stick feature is good and they are easy to clean. Lastly, the covered Saute Pan is too small. For me it is a waste. The saucepans are very shallow to the point of being almost unuseable for me.

Think twice before buying this cookware.

I had been happy with this unit until about a month ago. For no apprent reason it no longer recognizes my CD-R discs. ??? normal CD’s work, even burned music CD’s still work. But if I insert a data disk with mp3’s on it all it will do is start to play “track 1″ with no sound and plays to infinity. No disc search, won’t forward to other tracks, nothing. Just silence. Clarion web site is useless. Only thing they give you is an owners manual and a 800 number that tells you nothing and no live person to talk to. Best you’ll get is a number for the nearest service center. Not happy with my Clarion right now!!! - Jarrod, KY

I have an Acer Extensa 4420. It died a day out of warranty. In searching reasons, I found a number of sites referencing faulty motherboards for this model. Customer service refused to do anything to help that didn’t require my spending more money. I would not recommend any Acer laptop as customer service is very poor.

I used one of these for a couple of months and it progressivly got slower and more unreliable as each week passed. Despite high quality windows and computer maintenance there was no saving the speed and reliaility of this machine. The screen is kind of cheap looking and the display is not good. The unit gets extremely hot when using any kind of media software or games, even simple apps alot of times. The trackpad and buttons are cheap, feel cheap and have cheap performance. This is just a piece of junk.

I just got this yesterday after a long weekend wait and let me tell you this thing rocks. And it rocks fast :). I am going to give you a review on a perspective of real world use and not on benchmark with all the numbers, not yet anyways.

I bought this for my MacBook Pro unibody and it is the best upgrade I have ever done. The speed is just simply mind boggling. I was shocked on how fast everything is. I am not talking about user wishful thinking, bias opinion of the speed gain, I am talking about screaming fast, jaw dropping speed. To give you some ideas on how fast this thing boots up, with the original stock drive, I got out a stop watch and timed it (not very scientific here but it’ll do) and it took 1 minutes and 46 secs to cold boot the MacBook Pro into the desktop. With this new SSD, it took 22 seconds.

Applications loading is extremely fast as well. I mean, as soon as you hit the icon, the app is already fully loaded. I have a 8000 songs iTunes library plus about 40+ movies and 10 TV shows and iTunes loaded with lighting speed. It used to take at least a full minute to fully load iTunes, now it takes, literally 1 to 2 seconds (yes you read correct 1 to 2 secs to fully load iTunes).

I also have Photo collections with several thousands pics and it took, are you ready? It took 2.2 seconds to load the entire library. How cool is that?

Safari and FireFox are both stunning in loading speed with about 8 tabs of web pages.

My machine was running fairly cool with the old drive but when watching movies, the machine gets warm or sometimes hot to touch. With this SSD, I watched a full length 2 hour movie and the bottom of the MB Pro is steel cold. The fan never kicked on the entire movie. In fact I have not heard the fan since yesterday. To be fair, the MB Pro is so efficient that I never had any problem with heat or hear the fan noise but with the SSD drive, it is just dead quite. Very strange to use a completely noiseless and steel cold to the touch notebook.

About the drive. I did extensive research and found that this is one of the very best right now, watch out Intel (I think Intel still is the King). Before you get turned off my the name Corsair, it is really a Samsung drive with Samsung RAM chips and controller. Samsung has its own version of 256GB SSD but they only sell to OEM and not regular folks like you and me.

A tip:

Installation of the drive into MB Pro is very simple. Remove one screw that holds the drive and remove the 4 screws on the old drive (need special screw driver for these 4 screws). There is a video from OWC computing that shows exactly how to do it.

Painless upgrade:

I first put the SSD drive into an external USB enclosure. Downloaded SuperDuper, a free program to clone my old existing drive to the new SSD. Installed the SSD into MB Pro and boot it up. The first time booting up with SSD took a lot longer than what I stated earlier. I believe the OS needs to do some configuration for it first. After another reboot, the speed was astonishing.

I know that this is not cheap and I hear you. But if you want the joy of the greatest upgrade ever in the history of upgrading, this drive is the drive to get. Also, DO NOT go cheap on SSD drives. You get what you paid for. All SSDs are not created equal. Go do some research before buying but if you want to listen to someone who already did the research, read anything and everything on SSDs for years, then run, don’t walk and buy this awesome drive.

I have a Thinkpad X200s and ordered it with a 7200 rpm drive thinking it would make the machine “faster”. I have had it for several months and quite frankly have been disappointed with its speed. I was about to sell it on eBay when this drive came out. I figured I would try it in the X200s, it being a breeze to install before selling the Thinkpad. If it didn’t make the X200s faster, I would just put it into my desktop. Truth be told, I had low expectations as I already had a “fast” drive installed and assumed the slowness was a result of the other hardware in the X200s

Used Acronis, cloned my X200s, stuck the drive in and all I can say is AMAZING!!! What a difference. Anyone, I mean anyone wanting the best 2.5lb notebook should order the x200s with the cheapest drive and replace it with this amazing drive. It works like magic. I get about 30 minutes additional battery life with the 4 cell battery and can go over 10 hours with the 9 cell battery-all with much better performance and running the screen at full brightness.

Great product.

UPDATE:

Having sold my Macpro, I took my Intel SSD and placed it into my X200S and put the Corsair into my (old) Unibody 15″. I already had a fast drive in there (at least I thought). The Macbook Pro now flies. Faster than my external G-Tech Raid 0. When upgrading the Mac, make sure you have a TORX 6 screwdriver as the newer Unibodies have a mechanism that require Torx 6 screws to be removed from the original drive placed on the new one so it seats firmly.

Also if using on a Macbook Pro and intending to use it with Bootcamp, let me save you hours. First thing to do is reformat the drive booting off your restore CD/DVD. Select utilities, reformat and then go to “Partitions” in the utility and select 1 Mac partition and further select GUID. Then you can clone your old drive so that the new one can be used with Boot Camp. This took me hours to figure out.

This drive continues to amaze me.

This will be a short review.

This device is amazing in my Early 2008 MacBook Pro (2.66 Penryn + 4GB RAM + NVIDIA 512GB 9600GT). Everything is instantaneous — i.e., app launching is 2 to 20 times faster, web browsing in Safari is instantaneous, opening huge directories of files is instant and all icons appear instantly. My Boot time went from 2:20 (two minutes twenty) to less than 23 seconds. MS Word 2008 went from 2:35 to 17 seconds (I have a lot of fonts installed.) Photoshop launches in less than 5 seconds. Lightroom launches in less than 10 with over 20,000 photos in the library. Redraws are instant.

My entire system is lag-free, silent, and cool. This is absolutely the best upgrade you can get for any price. You could double or even triple the processor speed and not get this performance. It’s insane. insanely good.

- an error in the first assembly instruction forced me to call the store to see how the hitch bolt and washers went in

- it’s VERY difficult to screw in the swing-out arm each time you open it. the salesperson took over five minutes to do it, and it still took me three minutes on my 3rd try.

- the hitch pin lock doesn’t fit with the cotter pin on [no biggie, but the instructions say to put the pin on first]

- it includes two tools that fit the arm bolt, but not one for the hitch bolt

- although the Yakima book said it would fit on my 2007 Toyota RAV4, it didn’t [because of the external spare tire], so I had to get an extension piece for the hitch or return the rack [which I did, so I can't tell you how it actually works. the salesperson said it works well, but that you can only get 3 bikes on it]

- the built-in cable bike lock doesn’t slide into its slot, so 15″ of it sticks out

Think about it, most other racks prevent you from opening the back door with the rack mounted. That is a huge hassle. This rack is solid, works and swings out of the way either with or without bikes, to allow access to the rear door.

I recently bought a Nuvi 850. Here’s my advice for what it’s worth.

The real value of a Nav system comes from the fundamentals.

* Receiver

* Maps

* Routing Engine

* Display

* User Interface

Garmin does a solid job in all these areas. But that’s not why you’re paying a premium for an 800 series Nuvi.

This model has a couple of “nice to have” features that were introduced on the 700 series of Nuvi’s.

* Where Am I

* Where’s My Car

Both are very well implemented and can be very handy. But again, all of the stuff I mentioned so far can be found in a Nuvi costing $300 less.

So what are you paying a premium for?

* Voice Recognition

* User Replaceable Battery

* Front Mounted Speakers

Well, the front mounted speakers are still drowned out by moderate road noise. So, I wouldn’t pay a nickel for that. The only real sound solution remains the FM transmitter that everyone complains about. It works OK for me, in my car, in my area. Your mileage may vary.

The user replaceable battery is excellent. For $30 you can carry a spare battery and go totally wireless in the car or use the Nuvi for 8 hours of walking around a city. I’d pay for that. In fact, every portable device should have user replaceable batteries.

OK, that leaves the “Big Kahuna” feature, voice recognition. Don’t believe the hype from the professional reviews or some of the hosanna’s being thrown around in Amazon reviews.

Does it work? Yes, it works amazingly well. In a dead silent environment.

With moderate road noise or even indoors with a TV at low volume 15 feet away the thing to gets confused about what it’s “hearing”. It should have a microphone with low sensitivity and high directionality to screen out spurious noise. A little DSP noise filtering wouldn’t hurt either. Unfortunately, the standard piezo mic that Garmin also uses for bluetooth phone calls will pick up any sound coming from any direction. The result is that voice recognition becomes an excercise in frustration.

Still, I’m gonna keep the darned thing. I’ll simply enter destinations in the quiet of my home, office, hotel room, or a restaurant before heading out on the road. The remote will live in my briefcase. It does save you from a lot of tedious keyboard entry. But, it is not the mobile safety feature that reviews would have you believe since voice commands are all but useless in a car. You can get essentially the same features in a Nuvi 760 and save yourself $300.

Your decision.

EDIT: Update…..OK maybe I was a bit harsh first time round. I have found that the unit will respond with moderate background noise…..some of the time…..if you yell at it. It appears to have the ability to lock in on the loudest sound it “hears”. So, if you are relatively close to the microphone and speak really loud (yell), it does respond some of the time.

On the upside, connecting to the Garmin website was very easy. I registered the 850, downloaded the newest firmware, and downloaded/installed the latest maps (2009), all in about ten mintues without a glitch.

I am a Realtor and have been using my Garmin GPS for almost four years. (It was the 2720 and had cost $999 when I bought it.) It’s invaluable to me in my business. Today it died as I was previewing a dozen homes and I went back to where I bought it originally and picked up an 850. Boy, am I disappointed!

The new graphics will take some getting used to, but that’s not the problem. With the newer technology and all the bells and whistles, I had expected this unit to be MORE intuitive than my old one. Turns out it’s not. Twice it told me it could not find addresses in older neighborhoods where my old Garmin never had a problem. I had to guess my way across unfamiliar areas to find them and, sure enough, once I got there, the street names registered on my screen. I immediately saw what happened but was shocked that Garmin hadn’t picked up the slight differences.

One street is named McLain Road. I typed in Mclain (small “l”) and it couldn’t find it. The old Garmin used all upper-case letters, so it found every address regardless of upper or lower case. This one obviously needs you to know which to use — very frustrating. The second one is spelled Hollowbrooke Lane. I typed in in every which way I could think of — Hollow Brooke Lane, Hollow Brook Lane, Hollowbrook Lane, etc. Now that I’m home and could play with it a little, sure enough, it found it. I should have typed in “Ln” instead of Lane and it had Hollowbrooke without the “e.” When I had typed in Hollowbrook Lane, it couldn’t find it because I spelled out the word Lane. Again, the old Garmin knew that Lane and Ln were the same thing.

Another very annoying thing I found missing on this new one which was on my old Garmin was the display of streets. Typically, each street will show up as I get near it, whether I’m turning onto it or not. With the 850 it doesn’t show streets unless they are major thoroughfares. I finally clicked on the “plus” button twice in succession and it started to give me lines (which represented streets), but it rarely showed the name of the street. Again, the old Garmin showed every street you came up to.

The voice prompts are also unreliable. Several times the voice prompt did not match up with the screen and if I tried to answer based on what I saw on the screen (for example, a city was on the screen and the voice was asking for a street address), I could not get it to sync and had to start all over or (more often than not) just gave up and tapped the information into the GPS. Again, a nice concept but frustrating if it’s not working properly!

I can’t figure out why this newer model would be LESS intuitive than the old system. I’ll play with it for a few days, but at the price I paid, I won’t be keeping it very long if I can’t figure out how to make this work better.

And, not to beat a dead horse here, but I’m shocked that the unit doesn’t come with a carrying case. I just bought my daughter a nuvi 350 last week for her birthday and it cost a fraction of what the 850 cost — and it had a carrying case! SHAME on you, Garmin!

This unit functions perfectly as it is described. The voice-activation is nearly perfect. Probably one of the best implementations to date that I can remember. The map is a bit under-detailed for the price but it gets you where you need to go. Voice commands from the unit are very easy to understand. Controls are easy to navigate as are the menu options. One thing that I think is a bit ridiculous is the absence of Bluetooth Hands-Free calling. For $800 they could have included that and it is the reason that I gave it four stars instead of 5. Many of the options included with the device are useless to me to be honest. Games? Picture viewer? MP3 player? I don’t need any of these but the voice-commands for unit control are awesome.

If you have the money to buy this unit, get it… if not look at some of the lower-priced 700-series Nuvi’s

I just bought this recently for my 2006 Scion XB. I did a lot of research on the different head units and I definitely made the right choice. This head unit is easy to use, delivers great sound and great video. I just installed the iPod cable KCA-iP301V (necessary to watch video or listen to and control the iPod/iPhone from the head unit). The installation of that cable completed this device. I can watch podcasts, videos, or listen to music straight from my iPhone 3g.

i ordered this for my ranger and after getting it installed it works great! the iPod interface is cool and super easy to use and dvds look awesome. theres lots of expandability and the touch screen is always responsive. i have yet to see all the features on it but so far its a great unit…

This Samsung netbook is surprisingly nice!

I scoured every review on all the netbooks before deciding to buy this one first. Having seen early generation netbooks, the question loomed in my mind - is it a piece of junk? This thing is less than $400.

The answer is - a resounding NO! This is a nice netbook, and for many people it could be their primary PC.

Build Quality/Looks: No problem here. It has very nice fit and finish. The Blue Sapphire model actually looks quite expensive. Next to both a $3000 Sony Vaio and a $2000 Dell notebook, when closed it compared favorably. The fake chrome bezel around the keyboard adds a nice touch.

Screen: Very nice for a small screen. Yes, it’s much smaller than notebook screens, but for basic web browsing and email it’s fine. Bright, sharp and clear - Samsung is one of the world’s leading LCD panel makers, so no surprise here.

Keyboard: decent, really doesn’t feel Lilliputian as I feared. You could easily type emails and short documents with it. Professional writers, bloggers or excel jockeys will be dissatisfied. The keys need a fair amount of force to engage - I found I missed the “o” key a few times until I realized I wasn’t typing hard enough.

Touchpad: the touchpad felt smallish, but the whole thing is small so I think that’s just a matter of getting used to it. The right and left click buttons felt flimsy, but they worked fine. What was really cool was the partial multi-touch controls which are similar to what Apple uses in its track pads. This is very useful, especially for scrolling on the web browser, which you do a lot with the small screen.

Connections: very nicely loaded - 3 USB ports, external video screen, etc. No complaints in this department.

OS/software: Windows 7 Starter runs very well on this machine, and is a nice step up from annoying Vista. I especially like the better control of popups through the “Action Center” and the “Gadgets” which are a copy of Apple Widgets. The task bar, another Apple innovation, also works nicely.

Battery life: astounding! This was one of the strong points about this netbook. I easily got 7 hours of life, even with heavy video viewing, browsing and downloading. This alone is one of the two biggest reasons to buy this little beauty.

What are the cons?

The biggest single thing I disliked about this machine was the slow Atom processor. I am more impatient than most and another person in my office thought it was fine. This is the biggest drawback - more so than the small keys and keyboard. Even opening basic windows functions like settings and email took noticeably longer than it does with a full-fledged Intel chip.

This netbook should instill fear in the hearts of HP and Dell executives everywhere. It is a very nicely equipped machine that will be a nice “satellite” computer for travelers that are tired of lugging around heavier machines. It will suit senior citizens nicely as a primary machine, and will be decent for the Facebook/twitter generation or “non-power-users.” Even power users will find the slow speed only mildly annoying and just may fall in love with it for the battery life and extreme portability.

Everything works as advertised, and I even like Windows 7 Starter. This replaces an older Asus running Linox. The keyboard ergonomics are good for a small computer, and battery life has been excellent.

The product is great but the Samsung Recovery Solution 4 does not work for complete DVD backup as the company claims! Having had 2 hard drives crash on me in the past 3 years, I think a DVD backup is essential. If it happens in the 1st year, you are covered by SAMSUNG, otherwise, buying the Windows 7 from Microsoft could be an expensive purchase!

The good: Side vent, very bright, quite fan, easy menus, rapid shutoff. The bad: Can’t adjust the size of the image, picture does not appear as crisp as my old HP VP6111. For the money, this is a nice projector. I don’t believe the picture is as clear for TV and movie viewing. I compared it to my older HP projector and I thought my HP was clearer. I will check it again tonight. It should be good for powerpoint presentations.
This projector is very good.
Especially, if you want to use this project in your room, it’s perfect.
Recent trends in projector is reducing the size ans weight.
But due to the reduced size the contrast ratio and brightness is decreasing even though they are portable.

But this projector provides best quality brightness and contrast ratio, which means the resolution is great!!! Now, I connected this projector with my computer and home theater.

I highly recommend this item!!!!

I was tired of the cheap OBD readers and wanted something much better. I also wanted something I could read the ABS system with. The Innova 3160 does the trick. It is easy to use and understand. I like the way it prompts you in order to get what you are looking for. It has an excellent screen with the exact information you need to make repairs. It is obvious that they consulted with a repair tech when they designed it. I haven’t tried to up-date it from the computer as yet, but it has all the necessary items and information with it to do so. On the down side, it doesn’t have an explanation for all the manufacturer codes, especially the ABS codes. I found that I am going to their web site quite often to get the expanation. The web-site is very good and helpful though. I really like it. The worst thing is the CHEAP carrying case. The unit won’t even fit into it with the cable attached. That means that you are always removing and replacing the cable. I’m sure that isn’t good on the connection. Throw the case away and buy something better that you can keep the scanner, instruction book, and other materials in. It’s hard to believe a company like this would offer such a fine instrument and provide it in this case. Never-the-less, it’s a great scanner and well worth the money-just figure a little extra for another case!
From the early 80’s on I have had scan tools.
Older ones you had to count the check engine light flashes to get the code number (still have mine for ford / gm / chrysler). I even went as low as to use a paper clip to get the codes.
Then I started with my first OBDII and it was very good (had to look the code description up in a book)
Now with the CAN OBDII and error code description on screen it is a must have for anyone.
This model with the ABS is a nice little touch also.
Even if you don’t repair the car yourself, knowing the code & description before going to a garage allows you to know what is wrong and if they are telling you the truth or not.
Leaving the gas cap off after a fill up and having the check engine light come on can cost over 70 bucks to get the car computer reset, only a few seconds to reset with this. (some newer cars / vans don’t automatically reset like the older models cars did)
Best of all, after you repair your car being able to use the OBDII tester to verify the repair is nice.
A would say a must have for beginner / hobbiest / professional.

it took a week of going to different sites and reading customer reviews plus time at manufactors home sites there were plenty of negative reviews on many models but on this unit the worst complaint was wanting a larger case. like any tool it takes practice learning how to use all the info available ,The ABS circuit is a plus I own a small used car dealer ship but it has already paid for it self in pointing out driveability issues other brands had reliability issues or customer service issues but so far it is a winner. the hardest part is sometimes finding the defective parts location under the hood I go to my local parts store and they have made use of service manuals for free ( chilton )I like buying from Amazon because of there willingness to work with you if you do have a problem
