PROS: big, vivid screen; nearly full-sized keyboard AND trackpad; very slim and light despite the 12.1″ screen; works great with XP

CONS: glossy case is print-prone; some shrunken buttons on keyboard; 3-cell battery life is low, need the 6-cell; RAM not upgradeable

—————-

Are you looking for a light, slim laptop that mimics the Macbook Air at a fraction of the price? Then the Dell Mini 12 would be a great choice for you!

I wanted the readable/usable screen size of 12.1 (10 might be the sweet spot for some people, but not for me — see for yourself firsthand) with a good keyboard, large trackpad, and light weight. Another important consideration was battery life of at least 5+ hrs (more on that later).

The Dell Mini 12 hits all of those points. The 12.1″ screen causes some debate about its classification as a “netbook,” but its Atom processor and low price definitely puts it in netbook territory. The screen is lovely, with true colors, no blotches or dead pixels, and decent viewing angles. The Atom processor (mine is 1.6 GHZ) is more than capable for basic web surfing, light typing, and reading PDFs in a Windows XP environment. And the price (I got it for under $400 at the brand name’s Outlet store) is superb, if you shop around.

The one featured on Amazon is decent, though it has the slightly slower chip; however, most online reviews downplay the effect of this clock speed decrease. Realize that it has 1GB of RAM, which is suitable for basic netbook applications on XP. But no expandability exists with this current setup — that may be a downer for those looking to soup up their netbook into performance ranges of a normal laptop or desktop.

Another knock against the Amazon one — it comes with only the 3-cell battery. That’s good for 2-3 hrs with some serious power conservation (Bluetooth off, screen brightness at maximum low), but the 6-cell gives you 5-6hrs easy. It adds a little bulk to the rear end, but this baby’s back is still appealing and makes it easier to hold, if you know what I mean…

Another unexpected but appealing feature to the Dell Mini 12: it is completely fanless. Somehow it manages to stay cool to the touch! Over time, I have found the silence and relative coolness to be big pluses.

In the end, the key thing for me is usability. I found the 12.1″ screen to be kind to my eyes and the trackpad/keyboard combo to be virtually normal-sized. The engineers at Dell were still able to package the Mini 12 into a ridiculously slim, light case. The closest competitor here would be the Samsung NC20, which is chunkier, louder, warmer, and more expensive, albeit with a much bigger hard drive and RAM expandability. For my purposes, the Dell Mini 12 is perfect. It just might be the same for you.

I purchased my cherry red Dell mini 12 a few weeks back directly from Dell. (it was a “scratch and dent” model) I was looking for a inexpensive, small, light and quiet laptop to surf the web/ watch some online videos and on occasion travel with. I also wanted to try out the Linux OS. The Dell Mini 12 fit those requirements. It is easy to set up and I have had no issues with the Linux OS or the software that came with it. There was a sizable amount of “upgrades” that I downloaded (over 250mb!) when I first connected online, but if you have a broadband connection it’s no big deal. I’ve watched videos on Hulu and Youtube and they work fine. I’ve opened MS office files with the open office package and that works good too. The big plus here is the 12″ screen with the 1280 X 800 resolution. You can see an entire web page with that resolution without scrolling (something you can’t have with the smaller 9″ and 10″ models). I also have the 6 cell battery which I can use for 4-5 hours on a charge. However, it does add some extra depth to the unit which is important when buying a slip cover or bag. I purchased a Mini 12 sleeve for my dell mini and it is a tight fit with the 6 cell battery.

Now there are some issues you should be aware of before you purchase the Dell Mini 12. First off if your into the Linux stuff this unit has “custom” hardware and “closed” software that only work with the dell mini 12 version of Umbuntu so if your thinking “I’ll just upgrade to the latest greatest” you will be sorely disappointed (check out conical’s support pages). If Dell/Intel/conical plan on updating these custom closed drivers so you can upgrade to Umbuntu 9.04 they have not made any official announcement to that effect that I can find. You also should not expect Dell to give you much help with the Linux OS. They will send you to online web support sites. This unit has no fan so in order for it not to get overheated you have things like a slow hardrive and no memory expansion. The speaker output is really poor so plan on using it with head phones. The keyboard not being full size takes a litle getting used to and If I was a fast touch typist a big issue, but I’m not so it works for me. In short, what you have with the Mini 12 is an appliance like your stove or fridge. Buy it, turn it on, configure the settings, it works (hopefully!) but don’t go looking to MacGyver this thing into your next video editor! Just plan on buying the next model when it comes out in a year of so.

I spent about 35 hours a week trying to find the right Netbook. It is SO hard, since there are so many and they are so very similar. I did try an HP Netbook, which had a good keyboard and good speakers, but the screen was just too small.

After talking to the guys at a Laptop Repair Carlsbad they told me about the Dell Mini 12, and they said that I can get it for less than Dell sells it for, if I buy it from Amazon.com

The Mini 12 came in the mail a few days later, and I was very happy with it, once I disabled most of the startup items using msconfig

It was easy to connect to my wireless network, and I love the large screen. The speakers are the only low point for this device, so I usually in some external speakers. This Netbook is VERY Lightweight, runs most applications fast, and runs cool and very quite, with is no fan. It does have video output, but does not run every resolution, just a few of the more common ones.

Highs

- Very Light

- Large LCD for a Netbook

- Runs cool and quite

- Fast Enough for me

Lows

- Speakers are not LOUD

The Verdict

- Why live with a smaller screen if you don’t have to?

Mark

SPECIAL NOTE ON THE ADDITIONAL DELL MINI 12s THAT I BOUGHT AFTER THE FIRST ONE … SOME OF THESE ARE FACTORY REFURBS BEING SOLD AS NEW. THEY HAVE SCRATCHES ON THE BOTTOM. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS THE FAULT OF DELL OR AMAZON, BUT IT IS A BIT TACKY.

Compare Prices on Escort 9500i

The first thing I want to say is that I ALMOST bought the passport 8500 because of what I read from one of the other reviews about a side by side test between the 9500i and the 8500. I read more about the topic and discovered that you can not compare the sensitivity of radar detectors by sticking both of them on your windshield and driving down the road. When they are that close to each other, they interfere with each other.

Boy am I glad I got the 9500i. The GPS functionality is great and I have blocked out all the false alarms on the usual routes I travel. So easy to do it, just hit the mute button on the device or the smart cord three times and you never have to hear that false alarm again. Sweet.

This thing has great range too. It picked up radar up to 5 miles away from one particularly well hidden detector along the Ohio turnpike.

Also, with the GPS function, it displays the speed you were going when you got “pinged” with the radar, so you can tell if you need to slow down or not. I know what you are thinking, but just because the detector is going off doesn’t mean that someone with a radar gun can tell your speed. For a radar gun to detect speed, it must hit your vehicle then bounce back. This is only good for a mile at the most and under prime conditions. The detector just has to pick up the radar reaching it, so it can pick up from much farther away.

When you first get the alarm, it is usually with one bar on the detector. You can safely slow down (No slamming on the brakes) before you pass the radar source and the 9500i will keep you informed about how strong the signals are.

Another great thing about the GPS function, you can mark those pesky vascar spots. See, vascar doesn’t use radar…so with any other detector, you are not protected when you pass over the white lines on the road. With this device, you can mark that spot so you know where it is next time, and it will warn you that it is coming in the appropriate amount of time depending on your speed. Sweet again.

The only down side that I can find in the 9500i after taking it around where I live and down the highway about 20 hours worth is that when the first warning shows up you can never be sure if it is a false alarm or not. You have to wait and see if it goes up high, or just stays a low signal…false alarms are almost always low signals. However, once you pass that low signal and it goes out of range, you can not…after the fact…still mark it as a fake signal to be blocked. It would have been nice if the device would allow you to still mark the most recent alarm a minute or two after you pass it. Obviously, you can mark it the next time past, but I’m just saying.

Mounts easy, comes with a nice case, extra suction cups, smart cord is awesome, and the dark feature (audio only, no light) can’t be beat at night.

Overall, a GREAT device, can’t recommend it enough. It has already saved me a ticket and I’ve only had it 2 weeks. Paid for itself.

p.s. Just so you know, radar detectors are legal in pretty much the entire country except for a few states (as long as you don’t have a commercial driver’s license). You can read about it on the Escort website.

This is an amazing device. Everyone knows the protection you get from owning a Passport radar detector, but let’s face it, it can also be a pain in the rear around town. There are WAY too many false alarms.

Well, this can virtually eleminate them. Whenever you encounter what you know if a false alarm (be sure!) you can program the unit to know this signal in this location is a false alarm (total of 3 keystrokes, not hard). You will never again get that alarm in that spot. Amazing.

It is also “smart” and knows how fast you are going, auto adjusting the sensativity on the unit, again reducing false alarms.

If you drive much and want to avoid “revenue generation” tickets, this is a virtual must have purchase.

Have used the 9500i for about a month now, and appears to be a lot more sensitive than my “top of the line” Bell detector I bought 3 years ago. I still like Bell, but the GPS features of this unit made it a must have.

Pros:

* Wow!, I have detected constant scans, instant, and pop radars, sometimes a mile before I see the patrol car. I almost think I have a false scan, but when I see the patrol car I know the 9500i was not lying to me. (One time I got hit, so I shut it down, the guy behind me really didn’t like that, so I let him by and he passed me like I was standing still, he got nailed, see, radar detectors can be fun).

* Allows you to see your speed on the detector, so you can use it as a “heads up” display.

* Allows you to lock out false signals from a certain area. (Nice, but see Cons).

Cons:

* A Lot more false scans than my Bell unit. On the upside, you can lock these out, so basically it’s “trial and error” until you determine you have a false signal and decide to lock it out.

* At it’s lowest brightness level, it’s still to bright (compared to my Bell). I don’t like advertising to everyone around that I have a radar detector, cops really don’t like them, and will pull you over for something else if they can’t get you speeding.

Note: If your alone on the road, speeding, and get scanned, there is no radar detector in the world that will save you. The cop units are good, some are very good. Your only hope is that when you detect a scan, the cop is scanning another vehicle, not you, if it is you, forget it, your getting a ticket. Just thought I would throw this in here if anyone thought radar detectors are a perfect solution.

I purchased this product after seeing someone wash my motorhome using one. I really works and not having having to dry a vehicle after washing makes the task fun.

I have been a pro shooter for 15 years now, and have always used Canon gear. Today, my kit includes the 1Ds Mark III and over a dozen L-series, or special purpose lenses. I can honestly say that this little Leica gives my pro system a run for its money, at a fraction of the cost, and weight. It also allows me to keep a very low profile if needed, even though this camera is gorgeous.

The lens produces astounding sharpness, the color and contrast of the JPEGs are amazing right out of the camera, and yes, the dynamic black and white mode does produce that magical “Leica feel” right out of the camera. I was skeptical at first, however, even after one sunset test shoot, I would also agree with other users on this point. At 460k, the LCD screen has ultra high resolution, while all camera operations are quite fast. It’s simply an incredible camera.

As for the cons that other users mention…in my opinion, no, the mode dial is NOT that easy to accidentally turn. Once you pick up the camera you’ll see that your index finger, once poised over the shutter button, simply won’t be close enough to the mode dial for an accidental spin. Also, the autofocus for spontaneous shooting, even in low-light is also plenty fast enough, and does not unnecessarily go hunting for subjects, in my opinion.

CONS: (1) Do not waste your money on the optional 24mm viewfinder. The optics, even at $350, do not zoom to match whatever focal length the lens happens to be at, which forces you to shoot at 24mm each and every time, which sort of defeats the purpose of having a zoom lens capability. Additionally, it does not even offer shoot information in the display, unlike a DSLR which does this and makes traditional viewfinder shooting possible.

(2) Don’t waste your money on the Leica battery. Instead, buy the one for the Panasonic LX3, which is identical, only it doesn’t say Leica and costs about half as much. The principle of Leica charging more without giving you any additional battery capacity simply irritates me.

OPTIONAL: I did splurge for the brown leather Leica case. It’s a little overpriced to be sure, but if you’ve read this far, then you’re someone willing to pay $700 for a point and shoot anyway, so you might as well just complete the package. It’s pure class all the way around. If your goal was also to bask in Leica social cachet, then this case completes the package. If you’re a pro shooter, then it also provides instant reassurance to your clients that yes, “this guy is actually pulling out a point and shoot camera on this shoot, but oh wait, it looks like a serious machine. It’s all good.”

In the end, I promise you will NOT be disappointed. This little gem is worth the money, and has definitely earned the following it has already attained.

Happy shooting…

~WC

Even with the $150 rebate (until end of 2008) I paid $200 for the red dot. Mind you, I’m not complaining. It is an estimable camera at the top of the heap in its class. I bought it for the f2.0 fast lens, the wide angle, the build quality, the Leica processing software in the camera itself (it is better than my Panasonic DMC-LZ50 - less chunky and exagerated color at extreme magnification), the accessories like even more wide angle with an accessory lens or the 24mm optical finder. I have done some photojournalism in my life and this is what I wish I had back then.

I have gone through at least four digital cameras since I decided to leave my Nikon film SLR on the shelf a few years ago. I have never looked back. But this beauty allows me to do the photography I like best, to be inconspicuous, to be quick, to feel like taking it along because of its relatively light weight and size, to not spook people who are shy when an SLR is around. It looks (other than that wonderful red dot) like any P&S, but I’m thankful it isn’t.

I’ve seen minimal barrel distortion, maximum sharpness and contrast, easy menus, abundant automatic as well as full manual features.

Unless you have a fetish about Leica, go with the much less costly extra batteries (under $15.00) and other items. A tip about non-Leica brand batteries: remove the stick-on label because it is just thick enough to make it difficult to remove these after market batteries. When I did this, they fit just as well as the Leica ($75.00) batteries. Get the S005 battery that the Panasonic twin uses. These aftermarket are just as good as maker branded batteries. Get a few of them. They charge up in just 45 minutes or so.

I have used the 720P HD video (use the wide 16:9 format at the right side of the lens barrel selector switch) and am impressed at the quality. Certainly a dedicated 1080P HD videocam would do better, but being able to use a 24mm wide angle lens is a real plus. On my digital TV and on my computer monitor the results were satisfying. My computer played it with a little stutter the first time but playing it again it was smooth on succeeding times. Go figure. I have a low end graphics card so that may be the cause. My HD videos have been less than one minute so far - I understand there may be a limit of five minutes or so (per file). Don’t buy another still camera without HD video!

A tip about what some pros and advanced amateurs do with a quality new camera to preserve its resale value is to cover as much surface on the camera as possible with adhesive plastic (such as the PDA screen protector materiel) to minimise wear (and actually, it gives you a better grip than the stock exterior). This is for a user camera. If, like some Leica owners, you just want to show it off rarely for the feeling that you know enough about cameras to choose a Leica you can skip this tip.

Oh, one thing. Do not trust the Leica neck strap. It almost came loose at the camera end while on its first use. Use a sailor’s knot there - don’t trust the tiny plastic sleive to hold. We don’t need any Leicas hitting the concrete.

Fantastic and superbly versatile compact digital camera. The lens is really great (although it has easily noticeable barrel distortion at the wide end, hence four stars and not five) and the sensor too. Great in low light. User interface is easy to learn and pleasant to use; I’m used to Canon digitals since the EOS D30 in 2001 but quickly became Leica-acclimated with this camera.

As of November 12, 2008, neither Aperture nor Lightroom support the RAW format used by this camera. Surely in time they will, but if this matters to you then look into it.

This is the best juicer we have musty and we have tried many. I had developed skin cancer and started using this juicer to juice 2 quarts of carrot and apple juice and 1 quart of leafy green vegetable juice, which I drink 8 oz. glasses of spread throughout the day. The cancer abated. The juicer is fabulous. It is detached, easy to exercise and easy to elegant. We highly recommend it. Even my children (8 years extinct and up) can exercise it safely. We also exercise it to juice wheatgrass, which almost no other juicer can effectively juice unless it is a wheatgrass juicer only. This machine crushes the food then presses it into a dry pulp squeezing nearly every tumble of juice out of almost anything. It’s Gigantic! If you need a juicer, this is the one. Nothing else comes conclude. We only wish it came in a solid stainless steel version.

I purchased a less expensive juicer, and after using it a few times, gave it to GoodWill. It was an dreadful mess to well-kept, and I never felt like it was really cleaned well. This juicer not only gets every bit of juice out of your acquire, it’s a fling to neat it. No engaging blades, no hidden nooks and crannies. It dis-assembles and re-assembles hastily and easily.

6/3/2009 Update

I’ve been using the device for a few weeks now. It has a lot of potential and things can be done, but many applications/features lack the quality of a mature product: inconsistent and unfriendly interface, missing features etc.

Major issues:

1. Small POI database. Only 2 mln POIs, and so far, no way to buy or import additional POIs. Big problem for me, and no easy way around. Finding missing POIs using Google at home takes longer than on a regular GPS unit with built-in POIs. You cannot use Google on the road (or it is much more difficult). Some GPS devices have 6 or more millions of POIs; you can really appreciate it after using the limited 2mln Clarion’s database.

2. POI search speed can be from 10 seconds to 3 minutes!!! depending on user’s entry. 3 minutes - it is just an absurd number. It must be fixed.

3. No Bluetooth hands-free calling. (The GPS is supposed to work with a phone. Why not hands-free calling? I need a BT headset? How many more electronics should I carry?)

4. Bluetooth dial-up network (DUN) doesn’t work with my phone. I was surprised because it was one of the major selling points. Clarion provides only a list of compatible networks and my network is on that list. No list of compatible/supported phones.(My phone’s DUN works with my other devices)

My hope is that Clarion will keep releasing updates and improving its functionality.

Written before 6/3/2009

The great:

1. Integration with the Internet:

a) You can send POIs from the Internet to ClarionMiND. Even with good GPS units finding POIs may be difficult: you either don’t find it or you find too many. ClarionMiND lets you plan your trip on your computer at home using Google Maps, and send POIs to the device. Great feature!!!

b) Great desktop-class Internet browser. You will be able to do everything you can do on your desktop at home, including Flash videos.

c) Google search, and it is integrated with navigation.

2. Navigation (I will update this review on route quality after I use the unit more):

a) So far routes look good.

b) Lane assist. It shows which lane on a multi-lane road you should take.

c) Nice job with voice directions. For example, it tells you something like, “go to the right side of the road” in order to prepare you for right turn.

d) All info needed for navigation is on the screen: compass heading (N, NE, E…), arrival time, distance, next and current street.

e) auto-zoom.

3. POI

a) Very fast search

b) You can preview POIs on the map. This is something nice and unique. You can select a single or a group of POIs and see them on a temporary map.

4. Address entry

a) Very fast.

b) QWERTY keyboard

c) Predictable entry. Only valid keys are active. As you keep entering data, it shows what was found at the top of the screen.

d) It remembers previous entry, and lets you re-start search from any level: state, city, street.

5. Hardware:

a) Gorgeous, high-resolution, large screen

b) Touchscreen works well. It is responsive.

c) Dedicated hardware buttons for Home, Top Menu, Music/Sound.

d) Great to hold in hands

6. Free Internet traffic. So far, I didn’t find if it is integrated with navigation. There will be an option for radio traffic which, most likely, will be integrated.

7. Internet weather, news, email etc

8. Fast GPS lock. Less than 30 seconds.

The bad:

1.POI database is small. I couldn’t find retail stores like, Walmart, Target, Costco etc

2.The car mount is awful. It is a few 100s dollars device with a “$1″ mount. Very difficult to mount/dismount.

3.After you mount the device, it automatically limits its Internet functionality. Result: you cannot use the Internet in your garage when the device is mounted. You have to dismount it 1st, check the Internet, mount it again. AWFUL!!! If they wanted to make it safe, they should detect vehicle speed from the GPS.

4.Addresses are not displayed in the American format (number street, city zip), but as zip city street number.

5.Keyboard

a) Inconsistent keys. Sometimes, it is character-only; sometimes, characters and digits.

b) Inconsistent behavior: to accept, sometimes you have to click “Back”, sometimes “Enter”; sometimes something else.

6.Too many keystrokes needed to see the route overview.

7.Current time is not displayed during navigation.

8.The device gets very hot.

9. Video player doesn’t accept many video formats.

The bottom line:

It is a great navigation device: very fast, detailed spoken commands, plenty of details on the screen, great map, good routes. The device could be a perfect GPS but they have to add more POIs, BT hands-free calling, and polish the interface. ClarionMiND works very well with the Internet: it will have more or less of a practical meaning for different people.

I have used this unit for a few weeks. The navigation part is excellent. Google search is useless without Wifi. POI is a joke…it cannot even find Walmart down the street. In order to get any usefulness in searches, I had to setup Wifi in my car. Traffic integration is awful. The traffic applet cannot zoom. You have to switch screens to see traffic. This cannot be done if you mount the unit. Mounting the unit switches it to car mode. The traffic receiver NK1U works okay if you get a signal. See my review. Overall, the unit is still very rough. I am hopeful that with software updates, traffic can be updated via Wifi instead of the Docking station. I had a Dash Express prior to this unit, but it got stolen. The Dash Express had better traffic information…I miss my now stolen and dead (company is on skeleton crew) Dash Express.

I was very disappointed with this for several reasons. I bought it primarily for a GPS unit, which worked fine, but I was really disappointed to discover that it does not feature the Bluetooth hands free calling. This was one of the features I was told (by an Amazon tech) that it had prior to my purchase. The unit has a “Contacts” setting to store your personal contacts, including telephone numbers. What’s the point of this setting, if you cannot call through the GPS via Bluetooth? As far as the internet, I do not have many Wi-fi connections in my area, so the Bluetooth connection feature was appealing. However, even though I have an internet connection service on my Verizon cellular phone, I realized that to connect to the internet through this device, it would cost an additional $50/month for this service. What a joke! Because of this, I was unable to play with the additional online features of the unit. The unit is on its way back to Amazon and I plan on purchasing a reliable Garmin GPS with bluetooth hands free calling. I hope my two cents will help someone with their future GPS buying decision.

Compare Prices on IQ HPC

A few years ago in San Diego, CA there was an emergency situation with fire outbreaks close enough to metropolitan area to create a toxic environment. My wife is susceptible to asthma and it made her very ill. In fact, our miniature maltese also became sick as well. I knew I had to find a top of the line air purifier asap. I researched many products and chose the IQ Air Healthpro compact home air purifier. It was expensive but the health of our family comes first. This is definately a worthy investment. We have utilized this product for several years and recommend it wholeheartedly.

I have only owned and used the product now for 2 days. But, WOW!!! What a difference! I am a SEVERE allergy suffer. And I own 2 cats. (I know, I’m crazy! But I love animals.) I have tried all the allergy medicines know to man. Perscription and otherwise. They work in the beginning and then I guess I build up an immunity to them. Anyway, I have FINALLY found relief! I am SO grateful to this company. I can breathe anywhere in my house now, with my 2 cats! The unit is pretty nice looking, but for a compact, still large. Seems very easy to use. Best of all, NO SET UP! Just attached the wheels if you want to use them. Seems very sturdy. Yes, expensive, but truly, WELL WORTH EVERY DIME. This unit knocks the Sharper image model out of the playing feild completely. The sharper image unit is also excellent, however TOO MUCH UP-KEEP. Too much constant cleaning and waiting for it to dry. Don’t I have enough to do already? Anyway, the IQ AIR is very easy to use, No set-up and best of all…. IT WORKS IMMEDIATELY! I was breathing better within the first 30 minutes of plugging it in. Now, when I turn it on, I breather easier right away. I guess there was so much crap in my air at first. The company provides a 30 day return policy. Try it, I am sure you will love it and not return it.

I’ve had this air cleaner for three years now, running constantly, and am just now replacing the two filters. As a prior review mentioned, the refills are an investment, but the machine has allowed me to set up an art studio in my home. Oil paint fumes are seriously toxic and when the machine is running there is no odor at all. Absolutely silent on the lower settings, barely audible at full fan speed. Highly recommend.

With hesitation I bought this at least for me”no name” projector and whata a surprise!!!!The projector is easily connected to the source, when in automatic mode recognize the source immediatelly and quality of the picture: Amazing!!!ultraportable, light, keystone function, level adjustment…Noise of the fan might be sometime annoying, power cable is a beat short but take a look on the price and forget about complaints!!!

I’m using it at home as home cinema with nice projector screen and results are much better than in most of my friends who have twice-three times more expensive devices. Good work Vivitek!

I’m amazed with this device. I recently bought Watchmen on Blu-ray and this 720p projector compellingly replicated the cinematic experience. It’s incredibly bright, and packs in great black levels and colour accuracy. Fan noise is a bit of a bother but you can turn its speed down if your room is adequately chilled. I’ve seen TVs and projectors over 3x in price and this one can hold its own against them. The fact that it’s small enough to fit into your backpack is the icing on top of the cake!

We bought this early in our remodel, only to let it sit around in the box for nine months before installing it. Big mistake, since the warranty is done for. The movable part of the unit won’t stay in position…it’s like a yo-yo. Utterly useless. I’ve spoken with Frigidaire, which was like smashing my head into a brick wall.

Now I’ve started taking parts out, beginning with the microswitch that controls the gear motor (V7-3E27E9 Honeywell Microswitch if you’re interested). I’ll update later on the progress of my repair.

Nope, wasn’t the microswitch. Back to the drawing board.

This is the perfect way to have a toasty bathroom without heating the entire house. And it can be quite warm, too. Reduces condensation as well as the room surfaces are warm. Got one in every bathroom.
