I was helping my daughter install baseboard in a house that she purchased and had to leave before I finished. She lives over 400 miles away and on my next trip I had a loaded car, so it was impractical to bring the compressor, hose, etc. I purchased the Senco nailer and was easily able to bring it in my car. It works beautifully, though recovery time between nails is not as quick as with an air gun. I find myself using it a lot when I just need to drive a few nails, since I always turn off and drain my compressor at the end of the weekend. If I only need a few nails it’s far quicker, and quieter, to grab the Senco nailer than to turn on the compressor. Well worth the money.

if you need a nailer buy this one now! No air compressor, no gas, Shoots nails really fast. I am very happy with this gun wish I had bought it a long time ago.

limited use of product to date, so far has plesase in perfomance and ease of use.

I BOUGHT THIS PARTICULAR NAIL GUN FOR DOING CEDAR SHINGLE JOBS. ITS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT. VERY HELPFUL WHEN USING IT FOR 8 HRS A DAY FOR SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW. I OWN OTHER BOSTITCH GUNS , NEVER HAVE ANY TROUBLE. PARTS ARE EASY TO GET IF NEEDED. NAILS FOR IT ARE AVILABLE ALMOST EVERYWHERE. PLUS ITS MADE IN U.S.A.

I bought this reconditioned, and I like both the saving, and the fact that someone looked over the tool. This winter I shot 10,000 plastic colated Hitachi nails through this gun without a single misfire. The company I worked with uses the Hitachi siding nailer, thats why the nailes were hitachi. And I bought a Bostitch nailer because it was both cheaper, and watching others with the Hitachi frustrated with jambing and misfires, helped me make my choice

We use this gun for cedar siding, trim boards, and plywood sheeting for both roofs and sidewall sheeting. The gun is light, reliable, durable, and easy to repair if you do abuse it. We have replaced an aircap and a top seal (the gun took a nose dive off a 3 story victorian roof) That said we have enjoyed using it and would recommend it. Can’t think of a down side so a 5 star buy. One note if your I would recommend the wire collated over the plastic collated …we have had issues with the little plastic trails that hangs onto the nail and sticks out around the head. Wire seams to be cleaner.

Pros:

-Bright LED Backlit screen.

-Very light and portable.

-Cool on your lap and quiet.

-DVD Burner.

-HDMI output.

-Solid battery life (5+ hours real world).

-Runs programs much better than Netbooks…heck, it has Vista pre-installed, it has to be powerful.

Cons:

-Bloatware! Tons of useless things installed…20+ trial games.

-Backup DVD’s didn’t burn.

-Almost zero documentation. Had to figure out on my own what all the flashing lights were.

This is the perfect combination of netbook & laptop. It has the price of a high-end netbook, with the performance of a laptop. It won’t run 5 programs at once, burn a DVD, and render a movie at the same time, but it will do each of these by themselves with zero problems.

The screen is unbelievable. Very bright. You can’t run it on the highest setting in the dark because it is blinding.

Battery life is very solid for the size of the battery. A lot of laptops have really big batteries attached to them to get long life. This computer doesn’t have a big battery, but lasts a very long time. It has a battery management system pre-installed that does the same thing as Windows 7 RC. I turned it off and just used Windows 7.

Overall, this computer can’t be beaten for the price. I have used/owned Apple laptops in the past. With Windows 7 running, this computer is better than any Mac at half the price…now, if only we could get rid of the crapware.

First of all, you have to accept that there will be no “perfect” laptop unless you have a deep pocket. Yes, I would love to have a machine that gives me the best of everything but then, I would spend a lot more than this. My first laptop was a Toshiba Satellite M35X and it kept me on my nerves because the battery life was a miserable 2+ hr. I could not use the energy saving mode to work either because the screen would be too dim in any lit environment. I had to make sure I always shuts it down when taking a break and I had to charge it 3 times a day if not more often. It drove me nuts! And I eventually give up on taking it with me due to the Toshiba’s 6+ lb weight. And to top it off, I paid over $900 for it!

So I finally decided that I have had enough with the Satellite and I learned my lessons. For my 2nd laptop, I decided to stick to what matters to me the most — the weight and battery life. I was thrilled when the Timeline came to the market because all the light and thin and long battery life laptops just cost way more than I am willing to pay for. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the portability of this ACER Timeline 4810TZ. I only charge the battery once a day and I leave the cords at home. I am so relieved not having to be concerned about the battery level constantly. In energy saving mode the screen is still sharp and bright. I installed Visual Studio to do my programming work and it runs fine. It’s very quiet and stays cool. (my Satellite was by no means noisy but the fan was annoying, and any laptop that runs hot should be a concern to you, my co-worker’s HP was designed for cooking and it cooked itself to death in just over a year!) The sound quality is fine. Don’t forget to update the video driver if yours comes with an older version or you might experience the problems mentioned in the other review. I have had this laptop for almost 3 months and the keys are just fine. I feel it’s well built and looks elegant. Overall, this laptop is a great buy and if you need more processing power and can afford a little more (about $300 at time of this review), go for the model with the SU9400 processor. If you are not certain about Acer’s reliability, your best bet will be to buy a 2 year old model because you just don’t know what issues a new model might have. My Toshiba had a class action suit due to many many problems and wasn’t Toshiba a decent brand? This is why now my strategy for computers is to spend the least for what I need and not overbuy. This way I can afford to upgrade more often regardless of my “luck” with any model.

First, check into Smartcaps from [...] to Resolve the Cap Lock problem (There being no status light - been using this product for years on other laptops, this time it is a necessity/lifesaver!)

Got it for my lady, to quiet down the complaints about cords, connectivity & XP problems - knowing that any problems would only increase the volume. She was not picked for her technical expertise.

It has been nice and quiet ever since. The 8-hour battery lets her carry it around unencumbered throughout the ranch, she knows about the “power-saver” button and returns it to power in the evenings. The controls are quirky but that only seems to add to its charm - her assessment of the screen is that it is like the mirror on a ladies’ compact - thin and solid.

By the way, selected the 14″ over the 13″ strictly for the CD player - did not need the complaints. Did not mention the lack of Bluetooth to her - and hopefully she won’t be reading this. Picked up a cheap, tiny USB Bluetooth radio planning to leave it plugged in, but it protrudes too obtrusively, more like a mushroom than a bump.

Otherwise, am Very Happy - and things are quiet. For now.

We just (yesterday) received this printer from Amazon. It replaces a printer/copier/scanner that we loved but which finally gave up the ghost, a DCP-1200, an earlier generation of this new machine. The 1200 cost us $650 in 2000, and we used and abused it for nine years — an astonishing life-span in this era of 2-3 year replacement cycles. Between my wife and me we wrote three full-length books in that time period, printing out countless new drafts of each — not to mention literally thousands and thousands of pages of research materials, plus many documents, support forms, and academic papers as we continued both our part-time business and my academic program. Our new 8080dn has that and more in store for it over the coming years. Surprisingly, the 8080 cost us half what our old 1200 did, yet has many improvements and new features. It does everything the 1200 did, yet copies and prints much faster, offers double the print resolution (if we ever need it!), and has the duplex feature which I absolutely love - I’ve already cut in half much of our paper consumption. Installation was simple and straightforward(I had my 16-year-old and his friends do it — under my supervision! — as a learning experience), and it functions very smoothly and simply. The user interface is even simpler and more intuitive than that of the old 1200. I can’t testify to its longevity, but it seems equally well built — so who knows, maybe we’ll still be using it in 2018.

In general it’s a nice machine, for the $299 it’s great.

But, it does NOT have full Duplex Capability, meaning you cannot

copy, or scan duplex. HUGE drawback, had I known I would’ve

bought the 8050 version, which does allow for these.

You can only print duplex, which is GREAT.

I wont bore you with what everybody else says about the 200W. It’s a great unit and very easy to learn. I also own a Mio C220 GPS and as both GPS systems are similar, I would like to compare them.

Ease of use… Nuvi by far the best.

Picking up and holding satellites… Mio by far the best.

Sound volume… Nuvi by far the best.

Screen brightness… Nuvi by far the best.

Routing… Both get you there but the Nuvi has better routing (Navtec) versus Mio (TeleAtlas).

Although the Nuvi has a bigger screen it lacks two features the Mio has and I miss them very much. The Mio has an arrow that always points to North, the Nuvi does not. The Mio shows the next turn on the screen, the Nuvi does not, and you have to touch the bottom right part of the Nuvi screen to see the next turn in advance. You do see the turn coming as you get to that turn on the Nuvi but it’s nice to know more in advance then the Nuvi lets you know. With such a large screen it’s hard to justify not having these two items on screen as I find them important. The POI’s are much harder to program in on the Mio but the Mio lets you categorize your POI’s, the Nuvi lumps them all into one category. Via points are basically unlimited in the Mio but not easily programed in, the Nuvi allows only one via point but is easily programed into the trip. The Mio offers a “QWERTY” key board to input information while the Nuvi has an “ABC” keyboard. This isn’t a big deal but why not a QWERTY keyboard as everybody uses on on their own computers, and finding letters is much faster. Both are great GPS systems, the Mio is “meat and potatoes” while the Nuvi is “pheasant under glass”. My advice is that although the Nuvi 200W is about $100 more than the Mio C220, its the one to get due to the sound volume and screen brightness, routing and ease of use.

This is entry-level automotive GPS from Garmin. That means it lacks “advanced” functions as FM transmitter, bluetooth connectivity or MP3 player. However, in my opinion, a stand-alone GPS unit doesn’t need any of that, and certainly not at a $200+ cost.

Widescreen makes 200W/250W so much better than other 200 series models. Getting directions from the unit is the same, regardless of the screen size, but you will be able to see a lot more of what is around you as you drive with these units - places off a highway, gas stations, restaurants. It’s also easier to use the touch screen, as icons are quite larger.

Comparing 200W/250W with new the 700 series clearly shows these units as entry level, but again, the price gap is huge and I believe it’s simply not worth it. One might consider 770 which includes European maps over 200/250, as buying them separately is quite expensive.

This little guy has everything most more expensive Garmins do but for a lot, lot cheaper. The primary difference between this model and more expensive ones are that you don’t get Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada maps. If these are important, look elsewhere. The much more expensive ($500+) models say the street names, this one does not. However, if those features mean little to you, pick this one up. The list of locations is staggeringly large and current, the maps (on the one I purchased) were dated 2008… I couldn’t be happier.

I have been using this scanner for several months to scan my statements, bills and misc documents at home. I had to stop using my old reliable Visioneer MX scanner because it doesn’t support windows xp. The main reason why I chose this scanner over the cheaper EOX2 model was that this comes with a TWAIN driver. With that driver, I am able integrate scanning with Paperport 9. For home use, I think it is a MUST to use Paperport management software (preferably version 9 over 10 based on other reviews).

The cheaper EOX2 model only supports pdf format, hence you cannot use it easily with Paperport. Although I’ve never done this, it could be possible to scan with EOX2 and then subsequently manage the files with Paperport. However, for long term use, a Paperport supported scanner is the way to go.

The reason why I like Paperport is that I can stack, rotate, and edit scanned images easily; both in pdf format and in proprietary .max format. Note: if pdf is write-protected, then Paperport cannot perform any of these functions.

Scanner Advantages

-Faster than the older Visioneer scanner. Even at 400 dpi duplex mode, it is still faster.

-Duplex mode - now I can scan multiple pages with much less work.

-This scanner is great if all documents are the same size. In other words, it is great for office use since documents are usually letter-sized (no receipts or statements).

-Quality of black/white scanned images is better than my old visioneer scanner. Color is not great and should not be used as photo scanner.

Scanner Disadvantages

-Need to predetermine paper width. This is a major problem because it makes scanning varying sized documents tedious. To alleviate this problem, I basically tape a ruler onto the scanner. Note: paper length can be determined automatically with automatic edge detection. When batch scanning, automatic edge detection will not work when paper lengths differ. So you must disable edge detection and then resize length manually after batch scanning. I also don’t like the paper guides because they’re a little difficult to adjust, but you need them when scanning in batches.

-Only 3 custom paper-width settings

-One annoying thing is that I have to manually close the driver window after scanning. It should do so automatically.

-Even though there are paper guides, it is still difficult to scan images straight. Fortunately, with Paperport I can make rotation adjustments easily.

-Can only scan images up to 14 inches in length. Long receipts need to be done in 2 scans and you must edit them later in Paperport to form a single image. The old visioneer scanners could scan a long receipt w/o any problems.

-Every so often, it does jam, but it is very easy to remove the paper.

Summary

Overall, this scanner scans faster, but ease-of-use sucks. So overall scan time may be the same. Obviously will be faster if all your documents are the same size.

I purchased this scanner only because I wanted to use it with the newer Paperport. I strongly recommend Paperport 9 since you can easily search, stack and edit scanned documents.

Although this is quite expensive, for under $800, this scanner is as good as it gets.

The Fujitsu FI-5110C document scanner has cut down on the time it takes to scan the documents at the office, especially double-sided documents. Great efficiency and speed. A bit expensive for a scanner only, but a relative value for increased productivity.

Purchased monitor [...]worth every penny. Went from a 19″ and my desktop almost doubled with the 1920×1080 resolution. Has a built-in TV tuner to hookup an antenna for local TV in high def. Only complaint, the monitor stand is not adjustable nor does it swivel. Another minus (in my opinion) is the lack of a built-in USB hub, which my prior did have, and it was convenient.

I bought this monitor to replace my old Samsung 17″ monitor.

It has been a wonderful replacement so far.

A couple things to note:

1. The monitor does not have a height adjustment but it does have front to back tilt built into the stand.

2. Make sure to securely tighten the screw under the base when attaching the stand to the monitor several people have complained the stand is wobbly if you do not tighten this screw tightly it will be.

This is a great monitor do yourself a favor and buy it.

I wanted an HDTV for my desk so that I could work while watching the business networks in the morning. I have a 22 inch Samsung and a 19 inch Viewsonic. I build Web sites making two monitors a necessity. When I bought the Samsung 23 I was in a hurry. I didn’t even notice that I could use it as a monitor.

I connected the unit to my computer just to see the resolution. It is terrific. Unfortunately I need to use this thing as a TV only but I can say the resolution, colors and everything else are fantastic. Highly recommended product.

I purchased the unit (Sunpentown WC-28D) seven months ago. Then it stopped cooling, first the lower zone, then the upper zone. The unit was kept level on a tile floor with ample ventilation and around 76-78F degree ambient temperature. The zones were set to 55F (upper) and 64F (lower).

I called Sunpentown customer support, who could not solve the problem over the phone. Since it is still covered under warranty, the representative suggested returning the product for repair. Parts & labor, as well as shipping from the repair shop back to me would be covered - but NOT shipping to the repair shop. Cost to ship via FedEx Ground: $120, plus appropriate packaging material. The supervisor was just referring to company’s website which states that freight charges are not covered. So, keep that in mind if you decide to purchase this product, as well as the fact that the unit broke down after only seven months!

I liked the idea of two different zones, one for the whites, one for the reds. However, the shelves are a little cramped and the basket really did not work for me.

So I am in the market for a new one, this time reading the warranty more carefully.

I bought this unit after searching for something that simply had USB inputs, but after seeing the abundance of other features for not a lot of $$ more, I asked around about Lanzar and even though I couldn’t find the manual anywhere on-line, I bought the unit trusting the positive feedback I’d gotten.

In-dash installation was very straightforward, with very common wiring. The unit is easy to use right away although installing the faceplate is a bit awkward til you’ve done it a few times.

It sounds great, is easy to use and navigate, you can even change the scrolling display to read whatever you want it to! Not only can you play mp3’s from a thumb drive, but you can play videos and scroll through photos from one as well.

The remote is very handy but some of the markings are difficult in some situations, (red characters on a small black button is tough).

I haven’t gotten around to setting up the bluetooth yet I’ve been having so much fun with everything else!

I’ve suggested to my wife that we get one for her car, I think another few miles in my ride and she’ll be ready to switch!
Very nice unit, bluetooth works great and has a perfect picture for the back up camera…Top of the line unit,I cant believe it sells for that cheap!!! Its nicer than my $1,800 pioneer I have in my other vehicle and I had to pay a extra $100 for a separate bluetooth unit and a separate mic, this one is all in one!!!
I received my in a timely manner. it installed easily and worked well…for a while. I purchased this product in June. the summer heat here got in the high 90’s, so the inside heat in my white pickup was pretty hot. my lanzar unit kept trying to default to DVD mode and sometimes the screen wouldn’t come on untill the A/C cooled things down a bit.
The music sounds great and the DVD picture and sound is great, the radio reception could definitely be better. But the graphics of the display while in radio and aux mode are really bad. All the touch buttons work fine but look like 1980’s software graphics, it’s embarrassing and i found no way to do visual upgrades. There’s also a usb port on the front that i never was able to use but tried, there’s no clear instruction how to use it.
Ok, so now it’s October and we had a cold front move through. I got in my pickup early that morning and the temperature was about 25 degrees. the display quit working permanently but everything else still works, even the touch screen. but it’s hard to navigate a touch screen with no display.
All in all everything worked how expected but it doesn’t do extreme temperature too well. if you think that was extreme..
